Tsubasa’s solo single & Mori Mitsuko’s DVD

January 6th, 2010

I can’t bring myself to use the “d” word…

I know it’s happening, but still feel a bit shocked when I saw the news…
Okay, all things considered, I should have been more okay with this considering there are now 3 Takki solo singles (11 copies of which still sit pretty on my shelf, totally unopened *lol)…
But a tiny bit inside me just felt … i dunno what’s the word to describe how I feel… it’s a mixture of everything.

Of course I’m happy for him, and Takki… just that I just wished all these have happened in a different situation…

There’d be 4 versions as expected, with the 4th version only available through the special Tsubasa shop at Mu-mo.

“Backborn”
Try saying that word many times, and it’d soon turn to “Backbron”, no?

Interesting choice of title, but I guess it’d work.. I like the explanation that’s given about how it’s a .. what you call it… a portmanteau of “Backbone” and “Born”
So Tsubasa-rashii too, to use a coined term for his first single~
I haven’t heard any of the songs, so… it would be a surprise for sure ^^

Anyway,
The singles can now be ordered through Tsubasa shop at Mumo, CD Japan & Neowing (CD Japan’s japanese sister site)
I’ll get mine through CD Japan, except for the special Tsubasa shop version of course

Oh.. the other news is,
Just got an e-mail from FC, and apparently Mori Mitsuko-san is releasing a DVD of her dinner show, and it would contain 46 minutes of special talk show with T&T!!!
*kaching*
5600 yen…
My wallet is cowering in fear right now…
Ganbarimasu!!

Survived…

January 5th, 2010

Day#2 back at work after long long holiday.. and surprisingly I got through it somewhat unscathed
With exception of the super stink alert no thanks to the faulty toilets (yes, with S), everything was more or less normal

Spent most of lunch looking at the various upcoming ereader/tablet that can be used as ereader…
Been wanting one for more than 1 year.. closer to 2 years actually
Hopefully can get one soon… will have to wait till at least March before I can get anything though ^^

Anyway, today is also day#5 of my new routine… sleeping early(ish), wake up early (ish), study Japanese, learn Spanish…
Again, surprisingly, has not burnt out yet ^^
The only thing I have not done was cut all the mags.. again, there’s now a big pile of it in the corner of the room, coz I haven’t cut anything since June or July last year.. maybe this weekend?
Actually been thinking lately that I should probably stop buying them… but just can’t really bring myself to do it.
An alternative is ask C-san if she can help me subscribe, then once a year, when I go there, just bring my cutter and file folder along *lol*
that would definitely cost a lot less!

Ah well

Will see how it goes.

Still feel a little strange that it’s now 2010… kept on typing 2009, even when submitting my travel request form
(Yes! Bangkok next week… it’s only for 2 days and it’s purely for work, but who cares?!?!
Lebanese food here I come!)

Actually.. am kinda tempted to go earlier and spend a day or two as a tourist, but this is probably not a good time..
Been chatting a lot with C-san over our future and stuff, and certainly some ideas have started to form and take shape in my mind..
Beginning to think that it might be a good idea for me to just go back to school and do a degree in either computer or statistics… but if that’s the case, then it does mean that it’s gonna be another no-japan year coz am really gonna have to save every single penny just so I can still live a decent live as a student
Arghh
this whole future thing is kinda … not depressing, but just, it takes a lot out of you, just thinking about it
imagine how hard it’d be to actually DO it
but guess the old time adage no pain no gain really stands true

Anyhow
Like we agreed at the end… one step at a time
Just need to concentrate on making sure I aim for all the small little goals I set everyweek

一所懸命頑張って最後まで貫くぜ!

Just saw the entire NHK Documentary, thanks to Tsubaholic, and it’s truly truly amazing… not just coz Tsu is in it, but just the whole thing… very refreshing for me.
Carmen-san reminds me of Dey in her fieriness ^_^

It’s quite touching to see Kahoru-san bonded with Alfonso and Carmen…
It’s true that shared passion for something really can bring strangers together… and somehow somewhere in the midst of watching the documentary, I also started to think about all the amazing girls I met because of our shared passion for Takitsuba.
Takitsuba = Love!

Anyway,
Have not spoken to C-san but I hope she did record this…
Sadly she only has VCR, but if she did record and if I can get the tape from her before CNY, then I can bring it home and me brother can help convert it to digital file!!! *loves me brother!*
See how it goes, coz this really deserves to be seen in HQ

By the way…
I think it’s so cute that Tsu sounded so nervous whenever he spoke in Spanish with the family… he was okay when he asked for the direction though, although he kinda misunderstood it haha
I could understand what he asked though!
“Donde esta casa de Alfonso”
Sounded like he left out the “la”, coz it should have been “la casa”, right?
But watching this makes me more determined to continue with my spanish audio lesson!
(Started on 1 Jan actually, but this just gave the very much needed motivation to keep at it)

Anyway.. off to dreamland now~

Takki’s Stage show in April

January 4th, 2010

Wow! Got home and saw the e-mail from FC!
Takki would be in another stage show in April, in Nissay!!

Congratulations Takki!
Will have to go dig for more news on that later…
Is it enbujou? The mail doesn’t mention what show it is… Just that it’s going to be his butai.

Though…
Arghhht there goes my wish for T&T single in Feb followed by album in April *lol*

Ah good news!
C-san said M-san’s friend might go to Kakumei… if yes, she can help me get the pamphlet ^^
Then, found out that By-san would be in Osaka on 5th & 6th March, and she said she’ll try to go to the theatre to buy the pamphlet for me!
Yay
Things always work out in the end I guess?
Well, nothing is confirmed, but at least I can be somewhat positive ^___^

Tsubasa in NHK documentary

January 3rd, 2010

So yes, I’m without a doubt a loser *lol*

Finally found a streaming site that shows NHK General, played it and it was working totally fine, and decided how to record it, etc, and…
2 minutes into the start of the program, and it started buffering like crazy and never stopped T_T
So I think overall I caught about 5 minutes of the whole show
BUT

I like what I saw *lol*
The few things I could make out from the bits and pieces:

  • Tsubasa went to Shoudoshima on a boat, to meet the olive grower who’d go to Spain with him
  • Obasan asked if he’s the Tsubasa from Takki & Tsubasa. Tsubasa said yes, and Obasan said she couldn’t really recognise him coz he has changed, to which Tsubasa said “すみません、こんな顔しておりまして。。。”
    *lol*
Nothing wrong with your face hon… you just look very mature and grown up now ^__^
  • They reached Spain, and drove to Hinojares
  • Upon reaching Hinojares, Tsubasa asked for direction.. in Spanish!!!
The town look very quaint by the way…

  • Host-mama were showing them how to preserve olives or something…
I love how he stands here XD

  • Tsu and Obasan helped to harvest the olives
  • After a hard day’s work, everyone gathered and drank wine.. apparently there’s a traditional way to drink using that… thingy *lol*

  • Host family started dancing… then Host-mama asked Obasan to teach them Japanese dance… Obasan looked around and mumbled “Tsubasa is not around..”
  • Because apparently after drinking wine, Tsu was shown happily sleeping under some trees!! *lol*
  • buffer buffer
  • They were in some kind of pub or restaurant or something.. someone asked Tsubasa to dance
  • Our boy gamely did…

and so he was wearing this denim jacket that was buttoned up all the way, and a few seconds into the dance, he just uses his left hand to start unbuttoning the first few buttons of his jacket!!
Okay, I know that it’s probably just coz the jacket’s restricting his movement, but still that was so sexy!!
    Hot Hot

  • Time to say goodbye… Tsu again said in spanish that he’s very touched by the experience.. Host-mama got teary-eyed

That’s about it
Oh man.. I hope someone share the clip soon… I wanna watch it properly.
The town looks amazing by the way.. so old fashion.. and according to Wiki, it has a population of 501 people!
It’s so amazing that he got to do this, i think .. go to a remote town and experience the life of the town folks.. he must be thrilled to get the opportunity, coz the place isn’t exactly the typical holiday destination, you know..

Anyhow,
So proud of him too… I’m sure his spanish is by no means perfect, but can tell that he really tried to use it at every opportunity… way to go Tsu!

Elementary, dear Watson

January 2nd, 2010

Finally managed to catch the Sherlock Holmes movie today…
Loved it!
Robert Downey Jr’s portrayal of Holmes is not exactly how I imagined Holmes to be, but it was interesting to watch all the same…
The thing that I was most pleased with though is with Watson.. was kinda worried at first they’re gonna make him a bit idiotic and silly, but they didn’t…
Honestly I haven’t seen any other Holmes movie or drama prior to this, so can’t really compare in that sense. But I did see some Poirot movies before, and the character Hastings always remind me somewhat of Watson, so…
Anyway
With the way the ending was, I’m sure they’re just setting up for a sequel!
So yay at least now have a movie to look forward to.. something that has not happened since Return of the King

Ah.. went to watch it with Serene-san, by the way.
Quite fun to catch up with her again after like.. 4 years?
Hopefully we’d get to meet up again real soon

Happy new year!

Countdown

Countdown

Wheee
Am feeling quite high from watching the countdown ^__^
(If it’s not already obvious)

The moment right at end was so funny.. Takki kinda left the end of his sentence open, looking at Tsu, presumably waiting for him to complete the sentence, and Tsu didn’t catch it…
^___^
See boys… you really need to work together again and get that rapport going… because you move mountains when you are in sync

Anyway
A happy happy new year to all T&T fans everywhere
Those of you who think they are better off as solo artistes … shoo shooo go away don’t hang around and ruin my mood

Nostalgic

November 17th, 2009

Not sure why, but the whole day today, kept on thinking about all the cons/shows I attended in the past few years and all the people I met along the way…

and suddenly realise, girls, why didn’t we take any photos when we met???
I only have photos of me and Nikki starving sitting outside JE shop in Harajuku waiting for Ribs to finish her shopping
That’s it! (Unless I count the “MV” Dey & I made lol)

So the lesson here is, next time, take looots of photos…

But photo or no photo, I think the Oct 2008 trip was probably one of the most memorable, if not the most memorable one, for many many reasons
There was that one really funny moment in that little cafe where I passed Jenn her ticket, and when Nikki heard the seat number, she was like @__@
Turned out her seat was just right in front of mine & Jenn’s
THEN
Ribs’ turn to go @__@ when she realised her seat is right next to Nikki’s!
Talked about coincidence!
3 separate ballots and yet somehow or other we ended up sitting together

Then of course Dey joined us the day after, and it was just so much fun, us girls hanging out together, screaming together, laughing together (and at some point, getting rather depressed together)
And I think honestly to me, like.. I don’t know what the future holds for me as a fangirl, but regardless, the memories would always be precious, and all the friends who made those memories with me, even more so

So I guess what I was trying to say is, I’m really really grateful for all the friendship, and really really hope that someday (hopefully in a not too distant future) we can all meet up again~

Meanwhile, since Kiwi and Ribs and I are living in the SAME country, I shall attempt to drag them both out to play next weekend…

It’s a plastic world

July 6th, 2009

Never knew it could be so damn tiring to wrap stuff in plastic *lol*

Yes yes…
Last Friday, met up with Ribs & Kiwi, and somehow or other, we started talking about wrapping all our precious T&T collections up, so they won’t gather dust. Ribs then said that she knows a place in Chinatown that sells plastic wrappers in all imaginable sizes (which, got Kiwi & I really excited, I’m ashamed to say *lol*)

… So today Ribs brought me to the place and I ended up spending more than 50 bucks on plastic wrappers @__@
And of course, when I got home, spent hours putting all the stuff into the plastic wrappers…
Damn it’s tiring!
But there’s just something very very satisfying, seeing all my pamphlets and CDs and magazines and what’s-nots all nicely wrapped, so it was all worth-it ^^

Anyway
Was telling Ribs earlier that I spent some time last weekend taking photos of some of the stuff I own, and she said she was sure she’s missing some pamphlets etc, so I said I’d post up the pix for her reference…
So here they are:
