Tsubasa in NHK documentary

January 3rd, 2010

So yes, I’m without a doubt a loser *lol*

Finally found a streaming site that shows NHK General, played it and it was working totally fine, and decided how to record it, etc, and…
2 minutes into the start of the program, and it started buffering like crazy and never stopped T_T
So I think overall I caught about 5 minutes of the whole show
BUT

I like what I saw *lol*
The few things I could make out from the bits and pieces:

  • Tsubasa went to Shoudoshima on a boat, to meet the olive grower who’d go to Spain with him
  • Obasan asked if he’s the Tsubasa from Takki & Tsubasa. Tsubasa said yes, and Obasan said she couldn’t really recognise him coz he has changed, to which Tsubasa said “すみません、こんな顔しておりまして。。。”
    *lol*
Nothing wrong with your face hon… you just look very mature and grown up now ^__^
  • They reached Spain, and drove to Hinojares
  • Upon reaching Hinojares, Tsubasa asked for direction.. in Spanish!!!
The town look very quaint by the way…

  • Host-mama were showing them how to preserve olives or something…

  • Tsu and Obasan helped to harvest the olives
  • After a hard day’s work, everyone gathered and drank wine.. apparently there’s a traditional way to drink using that… thingy *lol*

  • Host family started dancing… then Host-mama asked Obasan to teach them Japanese dance… Obasan looked around and mumbled “Tsubasa is not around..”
  • Because apparently after drinking wine, Tsu was shown happily sleeping under some trees!! *lol*
  • buffer buffer
  • They were in some kind of pub or restaurant or something.. someone asked Tsubasa to dance
  • Our boy gamely did…

and so he was wearing this denim jacket that was buttoned up all the way, and a few seconds into the dance, he just uses his left hand to start unbuttoning the first few buttons of his jacket!!
Okay, I know that it’s probably just coz the jacket’s restricting his movement, but still that was so sexy!!

  • Time to say goodbye… Tsu again said in spanish that he’s very touched by the experience.. Host-mama got teary-eyed

That’s about it
Oh man.. I hope someone share the clip soon… I wanna watch it properly.
The town looks amazing by the way.. so old fashion.. and according to Wiki, it has a population of 501 people!
It’s so amazing that he got to do this, i think .. go to a remote town and experience the life of the town folks.. he must be thrilled to get the opportunity, coz the place isn’t exactly the typical holiday destination, you know..

Anyhow,
So proud of him too… I’m sure his spanish is by no means perfect, but can tell that he really tried to use it at every opportunity… way to go Tsu!

Why do we consider travel a basic desire nowadays? In 2008, only 30 percent of trips over 50 miles were done for business – the rest- for pure pleasure. Work is nerve-racking, the family needs to be fed and money is and will always be a problem. Meanwhile, there are hot deals on flights, romance is in the air in Paris no matter the season and life is still waiting for you at the corner.
