Wasn’t expecting myself to like the singles so much, but I surprised even myself ^__^

Now, I’m no expert when it comes to stuff like this, but I thought the singles are put together very well.. from the monochromatic color scheme to the font, the pictures, the music video…
Very chic and cool
Love that everything just feel so cohesive, well planned, instead of like, some random stuff put together at the last moment kinda thing

Oh, and love the music video too!

Wow… I remembered Kiwi and I talking about this when I told her about the new feature, and she was like “I hope they won’t stop this corner before they get to our boys”

Compared to the inaugural HSJ, I think the clip is very short…

The message itself is also very short… he looked cute ^_^
And they played part of what I’m guessing is the PV..

The way he’s working the mic stand etc.. very Tsubasa-rashii
It’s too hard to tell, but I thought the PV looked quite … chic?

Must have been one of the worst weekends of my life …

Had cramps on friday, then fever on Sat..
Can’t even remember the last time I had a fever before this, actually..
But that was nothing compared to the news I had on Sunday that just left me speechless… It’s kinda.. I dunno
not something you’d ever expect ever, but I guess that’s how it is with these things.. you just never know
Anyway, will know the outcome of that soon, but in the meantime I’ll just hope that it won’t turn out to be what we feared it to be

In Takitsuba-land…
I expect there’d be lots of pissed-off fans right now, coz of the news that HSJ is also releasing a single on 24th Feb..
I was quite surprised when I heard it, but I would be lying if I said I was upset, coz strangely.. I wasn’t. I am not..

Yes.. it’d mean that Tsu probably won’t get #1 Single on the Oricon chart.
But while it’d be great to have a T&T or Takki or Tsu releases to get #1 on the, it just didn’t matter as much if it’s a result of carefully orchestrated release schedule…

Having said that though.. I think Nikki is right I think.. Tsu must have pissed off someone in JE for some reasons.. XD
If I’m not wrong, this would be the first time ever that there are 2 singles being released by different JE groups on the same day?
So it’s almost like they are letting him drown on purpose
But that’s alright… he will survive this, and emerge even stronger~

He played Backborn again on tobase, and it does kinda start to grow on me a little…
Didn’t find it as bad and at one point I could sing along *lol*
Okay, so I guess Jenn is right … maybe the ippan people will like it coz it’s easy to sing along to

Anyway in the opening segment, he talked a little about the single, and I just get the feeling it was all, as with most Tsubasa project, I guess, very very rushed!
Seems that now they are doing the final editing, etc etc…
Since I have no idea what is the normal practice, can’t really tell for sure if that’s late or not, but just can’t help but feel the whole thing’s rushed
But ultimately, it’s the final product that counts so all the best Tsubasa!

He started the Gōyakai (剛夜会) segment today… it’s definitely interesting *lol*
Self-proclaimed Gō’s #1 Fan
Anyway, I heard him mentioned it a few times previously but no idea what the corner’s supposed to be until he explained it today..
So basically, he’s set up this Gōyakai club, and he is member #1
Fellow Morita Gō’s fans write in, then he’d pick who to call, speak to them on the phone, and decide if that person will be admitted to the club
Personally, i kinda think it would be kinda hard NOT to say “Sorry, you can’t make it for the club” right??, so safe to say that the number of members would grow pretty quickly

I really like the corner though…
One of the things I find endearing about him is how he is as much a fanboy (like, of U2, Morita Gō) as I am a fangirl of his *lol*
I don’t think he’s just paying lip service here… quite funny to hear how he “bonded” with the caller over their common interest .. (though he was kinda very very polite in his speech) ^^
So it’s almost like… I dunno… like… he’s just human, kinda feeling? (as opposed to an alien with sexy voice and super evil hips that can spin faster than the washing machine)
Hopefully he’d do this corner more often..
Wonder what Gō-san would think about the whole thing ^^

It seemed Imai-mama won 50,000yen in the Japan new year’s lotto thingy
(Didn’t quite catch the name, so I wasn’t sure if he was refering to those newyear greeting cards that also function as nation-wide lotto slip)

(J-net hasn’t even posted up the jackets, so i’m guessing when they do, Tsubasa shop would too)

Kiwi just told me that the cover for Tsubasa shop special was there, on the Discography page…

Seriously am not really getting the whole concept, to be honest…
They are kinda cool but don’t quite go with the feel of the song Backborn
And the pictures…

Jacket B is just a bit strange *lol*
Is that one of the checkered shirts he owns? I won’t be surprised if those are his own clothes.

Kathy asked me earlier which cover I like best, and I picked C…
But looking at it in detail now, I thought his jaw area.. looked a bit strange there *lol*
I can’t pick B oh god I can’t… it’s just too weird! Kudos to whoever it is that approved it though coz that is one gutsy decision…
So I guess I’d have to go with A?

At first I didn’t quite like A coz it doesn’t look like him.. or rather, it’s not the full-frontal pose that I’m more used to, but after staring at it for a while, I actually started to like it a whole lot..
(The weird jaw is there, but it looks okay in A, because of the angle I guess?)

Peercast co-operated at the very last minute, and managed to catch most of tobase (right after the “title-call”)
And he played Backborn!!!

If I have to put it in words…
the opening intro is very country, the rest of the song is swing/bigband/jazz-y
Overall, I actually thought that the song doesn’t really suit his voice, and the melody’s a bit flat… just… kinda repetitive
Kiwi mentioned that this is now a popular style in Japan?
I have no idea, coz have not watched any TV shows or listened to any current Japanese music for the past few years…
But she’s right in that it will sound better on repeat listening…
Just re-played the song and it does sound less… objectionable? *lol*

just .. I wasn’t really expecting this as the main song from his first solo single
As in, I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this

Been running on less than 20 hours sleep for the past 4 days
Sun night I think I only had about 3 hours’ sleep.. then for the past 3 days in Bangkok, mostly sleep 5-6 hours.. but I had a good time at work
It’s a refreshing change to work with people who actually Participate in the project as equals rather than as statues who are just waiting for direction
Only 2 sad things:
- didn’t manage to eat the Smoked salmon bagel from the bangkok baking company
- ate the lebanese food I used to love, and found that it doesn’t taste as nice anymore T__T

Was too engrossed chatting to C-san about the omikuji she got from the hatsumode on 1-Jan, I missed the target of “one post per day” ^__^

But man it was worth-it though
The omikuji was really interesting..
Okay so I’ve never actually had any fortune telling of any sort done before, so no idea how it compares to the others, but still…

Anyway, it started with 2 very ambiguous poems, followed by some advise/prediction/whatever-you-call-it on a list of very wide-range of topics, even if I said so myself…
I mean, apart from the usual wish, health, love, relationship, the omikuji includes stock market, “war”, moving house, getting engaged, etc.. *lol*

Ah well…
She’s a bit concerned about it.. we are the same kind, actually, in that we don’t go for fortune telling of any sort.. not that we’re not curious or anything, but it’s just this mentality that… we’d rather just not now and face whatever comes our way.. kinda thing
But it changed for her, because of Hosoki-sensei! XD
I think she bought a book by her that talks about these things… and then i think it said that 2010-2012 would be terrible times for her… so upon reading that, i think she got a bit more worried, and then even had a tarrot reading, and finally the omikuji
Guess the only thing now is to just help her to keep positive…
Not that she’s being very negative about the whole thing, but i guess in a way, she is worried (and I probably should be too, since according to her, Hosoki-sensei’s predictions apply to me too, since we ended up with the same “number” after going through those calculations using d-o-b thingy…), so it’s just to help alleviate some of the worries ^_^

A final note…

She’s going to Nagoya next week, and then home for CNY holiday, so… who knows?

Finally had my first T&T dream of the new year ^_____^

Can’t remember the whole thing as clearly as I did this morning, but here goes:

So there was some kind of Tsubasa event… I don’t know if it was concert or musical or whatever, but anyway I was “there” (no idea where, exactly) with Jenn.
Then I think on the way to the venue, we got lost coz we took the wrong turning… like, the whole area is cordoned off by some army of sort… then somehow or other Serene-san was with me!
We kinda lost Jenn in the end, but then when we finally got to the venue, Jenn was already seated somewhere. There wasn’t any space near Jenn, so Serene went to sit at one of the benches in front.. at this point, the venue turned out to be some outdoor space.. It’s like a normal stage place, but there was no roof, and where there should be a stage, there were just walls instead *lol*
So like, audience just sat facing walls, and there was a huge space between the first row and the wall..
Anyway, S-san and I didn’t manage to sit together either, so I ended up sitting at the far right corner, somewhere in the middle

Then suddenly, there was a commotion and we saw a person all covered up (even the face!) ran up from left to right.. and everyone was like “Is that Tsubasa? Is that Tsubasa??”
So everyone got excited, then one by one more of such people came and went up the steps and went to the back, and we realised they were the juniors..

Then out of nowhere, a BABY dropped onto the huge space, near where I was… and then the baby started to get up and kinda morphed into Takki, except that the way it happened, it just seemed as if it was just Takki contouring his body to appear as a baby (though how that was even impossible in the first place, was just puzzling!!)
Then everyone screamed, and Takki looked around and saw me, waving like crazy, and he came over. Then he seemed to realise I’m not Japanese, and started greeting me in English, like “hello!! how do you do… very happy to see you” kinda stuff *lol*
Then… I looked back, and there was Tsubasa sitting at the back row, and he just smiled and waved.. he was wearing some ancient chinese warrior kinda costume, and and his hair was a little like Fukuyama Masaharu’s hair in the drama Ryoumaden!

Then suddenly Tsu stood up and started doing some kungfu moves and everyone was cat-calling(???)
Then my alarm rang, and I got up and probably just had the biggest grin
Stayed on the bed for the longest time going through the dream and as usual, ended up late for work *lol*

There…
To say it’s weird is probably a bit of an understatement, but… Guess dreams just not meant to be not weird?

Have to re-listen to it later coz I didn’t catch the whole thing, but boy, today is really a good day!
First of all, had lovely time with Kiwi at dinner
Then on the way home, bumped into a friend whom I have not seen in over 12 years! The strange thing was that I literally bumped into her, then turned around to apologize… she smiled, I turned to leave, and suddenly she just called out my name, and I took a closer look and just shrieked *blush*
Sooo good to see her… I mean, in my CJC hostel day, she’s basically one of the nicest people there.. never judged, always helpful, always ready to listen to me ranting away, and tonnes of fun to be with.
Actually I think she’s the person who taught me how to play boggle
Ah well
Anyway, she has suuch an adorable daughter… can rival Nina
We made plans to catch up, so hopefully will get to see her soon!

Ah but I digress…
Anyway it’s also a good day coz I could connect to peercast without any problem, and Tsu was super funny today, and there were no baseball talks!!
Maybe not the season or something… dunno haha

Anyway in the opening he talked about the upcoming single… apparently things were decided around december last year?
And he said basically this is a single that says “This is me!” (Ore da!)
He also wrote some of the lyrics…
Wonder how the PV would look like btw…

Then, in the regular mail corner, someone wrote to say that she’s currently learning Spanish. She wrote the salutation in Spanish, and his first comment was that she spelt it wrong *lol*
Missed out the N or something
Then went on to say that he hasn’t attended lessons for 1 month due to his schedule
(I wonder.. does he have a private tutor, or just attend lesson in a language school?)
Also said that the important thing about language learning is that we must revise all previously taught materials before a lesson…
So true! Except, that was something that I never managed to do when i was still learning Japanese …
Man, he really does sound like a good student, doesn’t he?
Maybe I should tell him about the Pimsleur program I’m using.. find it pretty good ^^

Ah, there’s a new corner?
Tsubasa Oyabun or something.. It’s not listed on the website though
Not really sure what it’s about, but I had a feeling it’s something like gyouretsu, where people would write about their trouble then he decide to “strike” or not?
Anyway
the “case” is about this girl from Nagoya who went shopping in Tokyo, bought a pair of jeans, and when got home found out that it was too short!
So Tsu said that sometimes it depends on how we see things, so for example in her case, she could treat it like it’s Michael Jackson style *loool*
Create a new fashion style, he said
The way he said it is just so funny…
I think he really does have a point though… you can wear the weirdest thing, and as long as you wear it with confidence, it’d somehow pass, I think..

Can’t remember much of the rest.. must really listen to it again
Seriously my listening skill has deteriorated because of lack of practice, so really need to start picking up again.
